It’s time.
I’ve been sitting on this project for years, and now all I have to do is take the first step…so here we go.
People I meet are always asking me if I have a blog or telling me that I should write a book. Well, I used to have a blog, but it fell by the wayside as I became busy with other things. I’ve wanted to start writing again for a while, but have put it off till now in favor of other distractions–something I could just keep doing forever, as life never seems to get any less hectic.
I have so much I want to share, and this year is as good a year as any. I’ll be starting off 2012 with kite surfing lessons on the beaches of Cartagena, Colombia. Next month I’ll be off on an East Coast road trip. March? Southwest U.S. for some hiking. May? Thailand. June? Australia and New Zealand. July? Starting a 13,000 mile charity drive from the U.K. to South Africa.
How did I get started? How do I maintain this kind of lifestyle? How can you do this? That’s what I plan to talk about, so be sure and stick around. I’ve been doing this for over a decade now, so I think I’m finally at the point where my knowledge could be of assistance to others aiming to do something similar.
Until next time…
Hey Scott, happy to hear you will be soon be sharing your know-how and experiences!
Man, just saw you on the cover of that magazine running the marathon in the Gobi Desert.. the picture speaks for itself.. bad ass! Let me know if I can help in any way with your site and have a blast on your upcoming adventure!
Thanks Matt–great meeting you and I look forward to collaborating on projects in the future.
Hey Scott,
Love the blog! Sounds like you’ve really done some awesome things. You have a lot of knowledge to share and I’m excited to read more as you post more on your blog. Really enjoyed your story on Crains 20 in their 20s as well.
I am the co-founder of a project called Fail Detroit. The reason I wanted to contact you is to see if you would be willing to participate by posting a story for us. You can go on our site to get more details but the premise of our site is that we are community willing to share our failures in order to promote fearless innovation. Our goal is to inspire and empower Metro Detroiters to pursue their goals with less fear of making mistakes which, in the end, benefits the City of Detroit as a whole.
Let me know if you are interested. Also, if you need more info, I’d be willing to talk with you.
All The Best,
Brandon
Hi Brandon–thanks for the message.
Looked at your site and would love to contribute. I’m in Sydney right now, but will be back in Detroit for about ten days before I’m off to London to do my Africa charity drive–will contact you then.
By the way, feel free to stop by our send-off BBQ at Hostel Detroit on Sunday, June 24th from noon on (Facebook Event Page).
Scott
Sounds good, Scott! I’ll look forward to hearing from you. In the meantime, I will check the event and site out. I’m very interested in those types of events in Detroit. Enjoy Sydney and I’ll talk to you soon!
